This is Yamazoe Village,
in the Okuyamato region of Nara Prefecture.
While it may be slightly inconvenient compared
to the cities,
some may cherish this inconvenience.
We invite you, not want to question
each one’s values,
but to see it, taste it, and feel it as it is.
At Ume, you find the varied day-to-day
of a mountain village.
Including the nature, which changes
with the time and seasons.
And the local flavors, inseparable from the land.
Yes, also the human connections that form offline,
the local aunts and uncles who come and go.
Here, all of this is a natural fact of life.
